Frequently asked questions

How does the system differ from other centralised reconciliation systems?
The actual transactions and all associated information, including any errors, are incorporated into the RRDM for ATMs solution to be matched against Core Banking System, Switch, e-journals and other information.  RRDM for ATMs makes reconciliation more complete and exact, which results in fewer disputes and a streamlined reconciliation.
Does RRDM for ATMs replace the systems we already have at the Computer Centre for monitoring the operational parts of ATMs?
No, such systems address separate needs. RRDM for ATMs addresses the ATM operational and management requirements of operators and managers at the branches and central locations.
Does RRDM for ATMs replace cash management systems?
Yes and No. RRDM for ATMs using statistical analysis and historical data, recommends cash-in amounts per ATM cassette. If a cash management system is already in use that covers satisfactorily other branch needs including ATMs then this particular functionality can be disabled. If a cash management system is not in use and better ATM cash utilization is required then RRDM for ATMs will deliver substantial operational and financial benefits.
How does the system address cases such as when a customer enters the branch or otherwise contacts the bank claiming that a particular transaction was not made?
Branch ATM operator can resolve this issue by searching RRDM for ATMs online and viewing the e-journal part of the transaction with any associated errors or can view the associated video clip of the customer performing the transaction.
How can one view the video clip taken at the ATM?
RRDM interfaces online with the Branch security camera systems and accesses the video taken at the time of transaction.
Can I replace the paper journals with electronic?
Yes, when RRDM for ATMs is fully operational then one may choose not to use the paper journal and instead only use the electronic ones resulting in increased efficiency and operational cost improvements
How is personnel performance monitored?
RRDM for ATMs monitors and reports employee performance based on the duration of replenishment, number and duration of unresolved errors and actions taken.
How are CIT (Cash In Transit) providers monitored?
RRDM for ATMs constantly monitors the actions of CIT providers. When ATMs are replenished, duration of each replenishment, how much cash remained in the replenished cash canisters, how much money has been put in, what captured cards and errors are registered, and notes anticipated to be found in the rejected bins.
How are disputes resolved if reported two months after the event?
RRDM for ATMs keeps an audit trail of all ATM journals, transactions, mismatches  and actions  on them.  RRDM for ATMs can also be linked with the branch video cameras to capture the video clip of the cardholder while being served. Using RRDM for ATMs search function, operators at the branch or centrally can effectively and quickly resolve disputes.
